An American friend living in Jordan helped me make this recipe.


• 1 can nohut ~ chick peas (about 2 cups)
• 1/3 cup tahini
• 1/4 cup warm water
• 1/3 cup olive oil
• Juice of one lemon
• 2 cloves garlic
• big handful of mint leaves
• big handful of Italian Parsley leaves
• 2 teaspoons ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon salt


Combine first six ingredients in a food processor until creamy.

Add salt, cumin and pepper to taste. Add more lemon juice if desired. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with carrots and cucumber or crackers and pita chips.
